Our lap quilt is approximately 36"x48" and made with excellent quality batting sandwiched between the front and an appropriate backing cotton, which will work with your quilted front.
It can contain extras like personalisation etc.
A quilt this size requires at least 48 babygrows or 12 items of adult clothing, but if you can provide more, it gives me more scope for a better design.
